An assumption one might have is that a system must conform to one of these particular protocols in order to gain access to the functionality the protocols offers. The assumption is false.

Using IPSME a translator can be created translating the API from one system to one of the protocols here. This avoids the need for the protocols here to be the defacto standard for some particular functionality.
